Clemson players Steven Duggar and Chris Okey were named preseason third-team All-Americans by Perfect Game on Friday.
Duggar, who was recently rated the No. 27 college prospect for the 2015 draft by Perfect Game, is a career .297 hitter with 21 doubles, 66 RBIs, 40 steals and 14 outfield assists in 123 games over two seasons. The outfielder is also a preseason third-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball.
Duggar, a Third-Team All-ACC Tiger and All-ACC Academic selection in 2014, had 25 steals, tied for second-most in the league, last season. He led or tied for the team lead in triples (3), steals, multiple-hit games (22), two-out RBIs (17) and outfield assists (5). He had a 19-game hitting streak that started in 2013 and ended in 2014.
Okey batted .248 with nine doubles, one triple, four homers and 41 RBIs in 61 games in 2014. The Clemson catcher was one of only five Tigers to play every game in 2014. Over the summer, he played for the USA Collegiate National Team, as he hit .286 with four doubles, one homer, six RBIs and a .407 on-base percentage in 22 games. He was second on the team in on-base percentage and fourth in batting average.
Duggar, Okey and the Tigers open the 2015 season at home against West Virginia on Feb. 13.
