One of the most impressive looking prospects to visit Clemson for the Military Appreciation Day game against Georgia State was this 6-foot-7, 300-pound offensive lineman from Maryland.
Brian Plummer, a junior from Sykesville-South Carroll, was invited down for Clemson’s game against Louisville. Unable to attend that afternoon’s game, he opted to make the trek south a few weeks later.
“I loved it. It was a great football atmosphere, I’d never experienced anything like it,” Plummer told TheClemsonInsider, during a recent interview.
“I didn’t see much of the campus because of the way I got into the stadium. I came straight from the parking lot to the stadium, but the stadium was huge,” he said. “I don’t think I’ve been to a college stadium that big before, and it was clean.
“There were a lot of events going on, especially because that was Military Appreciation Day. They had a really good plan for it.”
Offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell spoke to Plummer before kickoff.
“I talked to him during lunchtime and he had someone give me a tour of the facilities and that was really nice,” Plummer said.
What’d they discuss?
“He kind of explained his background and his coaching career. He told me how good of a school Clemson was. Even though I was on campus for about an hour at that time, I realized that what he said was true.”
Plummer also went to games at Maryland and West Virginia this past season. He was invited to visit Purdue and Northwestern, but did not visit.
