Williams: “Always great to be at Clemson”

Future Clemson tight end Garrett Williams was on campus for his official visit this weekend.  TheClemsonInsider.com caught up with Garrett as he drove home to Florida.

“It was a great trip.  I got to hang out with Milan a lot.  He was my host.  I really enjoyed that.  It is always great to be at Clemson,” said Williams.

What was the highlight of the visit for the Florida standout?

“I really liked hanging out with Milan.  I also got to see the basketball game which was fun.  I would say mainly getting to spend more time with the coaches in a different setting.  We got to go off campus and do some things.  I really enjoyed going to Calhoun Corners for dinner,” replied Williams.

Garrett’s parent’s made the trip for the official visit.

“They love it too.  We had a great time as a family.  The parents were with the recruits a lot.  We got to go to the game together and go on the tours together,” said Williams.

The weekend in Clemson made Garrett look forward to the summer when he will enroll.

“It really does.  I am just going to finish strong this semester.  I will be ready to get up there and start working this summer,” said Williams.

Garrett believes the Clemson offense will be in great shape with Tony Elliott and Jeff Scott running the show.

“Both those guys are more than qualified to be in the position they are.  Whatever changes they bring will be best for the team.  I think they will keep most of the offense.  I can’t wait to see where it goes and how they adjust it to their styles.  I am really excited to play in that offense,” said Williams.
