Dabo and Elliott hit the Lowcountry

Accompanied by co-offensive coordinator/running backs coach Tony Elliott, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney made stops by several schools in the South Carolina Lowcountry on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Swinney and Elliott went to Whale Branch Early College High School. South Carolina defensive line coach Deke Adams also visited the school.

Pinckney, who is just over a year away from his signing day, is already faced with a pretty sizable decision. Both Clemson and South Carolina want Pinckney to attend their respective Junior Days, which fall on the same Saturday, Jan. 31.

“I can’t decide which one I’m going to, because they’re both on the same days,” Pinckney told TheClemsonInsider on Wednesday night.

The two assistant coaches have been to Whale Branch multiple times during the contact period.

It was Swinney’s first and only visit to the school during the contact period, which ends on the final Saturday of the month. He exchanged greetings with the junior defensive tackle, who’s rated by ESPN as a four-star prospect.

Georgia linebackers coach Mike Ekeler has also stopped by Whale Branch during the contact period.

In addition to Junior Day trip at the end of the month, Pinckney will make a few other stops this spring.

“We’re supposed to be visiting Alabama in February and also going to Florida State and also Georgia,” he said.

Pinckney camped at Georgia, but hasn’t been to FSU or Alabama.
