Clemson picked up a commitment from four-star wide receiver T.J. Chase during his visit for Saturday’s Elite Junior Day.
Chase, the fourth commitment to the Tigers’ 2016 class, joins tight end J.C. Chalk, quarterback Zerrick Cooper and offensive lineman Sean Pollard.
“Something told me in my head this was the place for me,” Chase said, during an interview with TheClemsonInsider on Saturday night.
Co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Jeff Scott serves as Chase’s primary recruiter to Clemson.
“I feel like they will push me from day one when I step on campus,” Chase said, “Push me to be great, that is what I want to be. Coach Scott will push me to be great. I trust them and they trust me.”
The IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida) junior committed to Clemson over several major offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
A 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect, Chase’s first visit to Clemson was in November for the South Carolina game. He returned on Saturday with his teammates, five-star cornerback Saivion Smith and four-star linebacker/defensive end Rashaun Smith. Chase hopes the Smiths will eventually join him in Clemson’s 2016 class.
“I am going to recruit anybody I can to come here,” Chase said. “I am all in. We too deep.”
