Chad Morris served as the primary recruiter for Zerrick Cooper before he left Clemson for SMU.
For a little more than a month now, Morris’ replacement, Brandon Streeter, has been on staff as the Clemson quarterback coach. Among the first orders of business for Streeter: Cooper.
Coach and prospect spent time with one another at last weekend’s Elite Junior Day.
“We really got a chance to talk. We went to the basketball game. He got a chance to talk to my mom and stuff like that. He’s pretty good,” Cooper told TheClemsonInsider.
What was Streeter’s message?
“Where he was born and raised, he played for Clemson. He played quarterback, so he knows what I’d be getting and stuff like that.”
Cooper added, “It was basically a meet and greet. Next time, when I go up for the spring practice, I’ll get to see (his coaching philosophy).”
The Jonesboro High School junior also enjoyed the time he spent with the other Junior Day visitors.
“It was pretty cool. Me and a couple of recruits were in the Rising Junior game together,” he said. “I met T.J. (Chase), he plays at IMG and he committed…(Diondre Overton), I got to meet him.”
