The Clemson coaching staff has already passed out a handful of offers to prospects in the 2018 class.

One of the most recent freshmen offers went to Teradja Mitchell, a linebacker at Bayside High School in Virginia Beach.

“My coach told me, I found out from him,” he told TheClemsonInsider, during a recent interview.

In addition to Clemson, Mitchell already holds offers from East Carolina, N.C. State, South Carolina and Virginia Tech. Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables handed out the Tigers’ offer.

“I like his personality. He seems like he’s a very good coach. He’s intense, a very intense coach,” Mitchell said.

The 6-foot-2, 203-pound prospect is familiar with the program.

“They’ve got a very, very, very good defense and very good coaching. They put players in the NFL,” Mitchell said.

Mitchell visited South Carolina for Junior Day last month. He’s also been on campus at Virginia. Clemson will host him for the March 7 Junior Day.

As a freshman, Mitchell had 89 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and an interception
