Clemson offers Alabama OL

On Monday, Robbie Caldwell relayed the message to Tyler Pritchett that Clemson was ready to offer.

A three-star junior at Auburn High School in Alabama, Pritchett recently released a top-five that included Indiana, South Carolina, Missouri, UNC and Louisville.

Caldwell’s been involved with Pritchett since he was on campus in June for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

“Their offer is a pretty big offer,” Pritchett told TheClemsonInsider on Monday night. “They don’t just offer anybody, so I think that offer really speaks a lot to what they think of me as a player and as a person. I’m really blessed that they offered me.”

Pritchett played in the same AAU basketball program as A.J. Oliver, the son of Clemson women’s coach Audra Smith.

“When we were up there, we had an opportunity to catch up with coach Smith,” Pritchett said. “We had a really great time.”

A return trip could materialize. He hopes that it does.

“At some point, maybe we’ll get an opportunity to get back up there and really talk in-depth and see the rest of the coaches that we haven’t met, and really get an opportunity to go in and get a look at the academics and facilities, to see everything that Clemson has to offer,” Pritchett said.

South Carolina hosted him on campus last month for Junior Day and he visited Mississippi State last weekend.

The group of five schools that he dropped in January is also subject to change.

“I released that and I did say when I tweeted that things very well will change, because you never know what’s going to happen…there’s a lot of things that play into it and I’m just waiting to see what happens,” Pritchett said.
