TCI Hitter-of-the Week              #3 Tyler Krieger

The junior shortstop from John’s Creek, GA went 6-for-10 (.600) in three games last week for Clemson. Krieger had two walks, a run, and a .667 on-base percentage for the weekend.

TCI Pitcher-of-the-Week            #44 Matthew Crownover

The junior from Ringgold, GA started the season strong on Friday for the Tigers. In 6.0 innings, Crownover did not allow a run on three hits (.143 OBA) with eight strikeouts in a no-decision.

Weekend Notes:

Clemson dropped two of three games to West Virginia at Doug Kingsmore Stadium to open the 2015 season. The Mountaineers outscored the Tigers 10-5 despite being outhit 24 (.253) to 23 (.223). On the weekend, Clemson had four doubles and 10 walks against 20 strikeouts while going 2-4 on stolen bases. The Tiger pitching staff finished the weekend with a 2.33 ERA, allowing 10 runs (seven earned) in 27.0 innings with eight walks against 32 strikeouts. Clemson also fielded at a .962 clip, committing four errors in 106 chances.
