Tyler Fannin will be among the prospects on Clemson’s campus next month for the second Junior Day event of the year.
A sophomore guard/center at Hoschton-Mill Creek, Fannin is already very familiar with Clemson, in part because of his brother, 2015 OL Josh Fannin, was recruited by the Tigers.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the coaches again, because I’ve gotten to know them pretty well through my brother, and they’ve been talking to me a little bit more,” the younger Fannin said, during an interview with TheClemsonInsider. “I really like being up there. I like the feel of the campus and the town in general.”
Fannin was last on campus in the fall for the Louisville game.
“It was really loud,” he said. “It was really exciting seeing them return the first punt. The stadium went crazy. I’d love to play for something like that.”
For Clemson, co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott and offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell are in contact with the 6-foot-3, 285-pound 2017 prospect.
“I love the way (Caldwell) teaches techniques,” Fannin said. “The drills he had us doing while I was at the camp last summer, they were pretty good. I like the way he runs stuff. He was able to get the point across to me easier, it seemed.”
In addition to the Clemson trip, Fannin has a visit lined up to Vanderbilt. He’s also been invited to the spring games at Louisville and Auburn.
Georgia and Ole Miss have invited him to visit for camp this summer and he plans to return to Clemson for camp.
