Following his Elite Junior Day visit to Clemson, David Marshall listed the Tigers in his lead group alongside a foursome from the SEC West.

“Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Ole Miss and Mississippi State,” Marshall said, citing that that his list was in no particular order.

A four-star defensive tackle (ESPN) from Upson-Lee High School in Thomaston, Georgia, the visit to Clemson was his first.

“I loved it. It was great. I enjoyed the coaching staff, the school, the dorm rooms,” Marshall said.

Clemson defensive backs coach Mike Reed has been in touch with Marshall since his sophomore year.

“They want me to come and join the family and they want me to come to their spring practice so I can spend time with them,” Marshall said.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound prospect is impressed with the direction the Clemson program is headed.

“They’re going to go far,” he said. “How coach (Dabo) Swinney is talking, they expect next year to go to (the playoff).”

For Marshall, when it comes to making a decision, he’s not anywhere close to reaching a conclusion.

“It’s still too early, I’m still weighing (the options),” he said.
