Smith enjoys Elite Junior Day

Three-star defensive end Jordan Smith was among the highly sought-after prospects to visit Clemson last month for the Tigers’ Elite Junior Day event.

The 6-foot-6, 220-pound prospect from Lithonia, Georgia recently spoke with TheClemsonInsider about his visit.

“It was good. I really liked it,” he said.

What stood out?

“The community, the facilities, the stadium, really everything.”

His first trip to Tigertown was in the fall for the Louisville game.

“It was good. There like 100,000 fans there. It was a really big game,” Smith said.

Georgia offered last weekend when he was on campus for junior day. He’ll head down to Florida State this weekend.

Along with Clemson and Georgia, Miami, Mississippi State, N.C. State, Ohio State, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee have offered.

“I have a top 10, but it’s just the top 10 I’m interested in. I don’t have a numbered down, 1-10…I don’t have any order,” Smith said.

Clemson has a spot in that group.

Several factors will be considered as Smith works towards his decision.

“Academics, of course, and coaching staff, and how I fit into the program,” he said.

As a junior, Smith had 90 tackles, 12 sacks and three forced fumbles.
