Monday Morning Quarterback

Breaking down the second half of spring practice

Today marks the beginning of the second half of spring practice for the Clemson Tigers. After having the last nine days off, the Tigers will hit the practice fields beside the Jervey Athletic Center this afternoon with a lot of work to still get accomplished over the next eight practices.

Clemson will conclude the spring with its Annual Orange and White Game on April 11 at 2:30 p.m. in Death Valley.

So what exactly are the Tigers hoping to accomplish over the next three weeks? For one, they would like to see one of the two freshmen quarterbacks take the lead, but both have shown progress from where they started from earlier this month.

From what I have heard, Tucker Israel has had a better spring up to this point as Bryant has struggled some in terms of the playbook and things of that nature. It appears heading into today’s practice, junior Nick Schuessler has a firm grip of the No. 2 quarterback position behind Deshaun Watson, while Israel is No. 3 and Bryant is No. 4.

But quarterback isn’t the only position to keep an eye on the rest of the spring. To read more of my Monday Morning Quarterback, please visit The Rock. It’s free.
