Sophomore offensive tackle Eric Douglas may not have any offers yet, but he’s already picked up a four-star rating from Rivals.
On Wednesday, the 6-foot-5, 280-pound left tackle from Charlotte-Mallard Creek visited Clemson.
“It was great going there for the second time,” Douglas told TheClemsonInsider. “The first time, it was amazing. The (UNC) game was live. They won, so that was even a better environment.
“Went to the practice, the first moment I walked on campus I was greeted. I felt the love right away. Walked around the campus a little bit. The campus was beautiful.
“Mom, she loved the academics part, because they actually want to graduate their players, and it’s a family environment there. It was real good.”
Douglas spoke with three of the Clemson coaches during his visits.
“Coach (Danny) Pearman, he was like, just come to the camp. He said they look forward to recruiting me. So I’m going to go the camp,” Douglas said.”Then, I talked to Dabo Swinney and coach (Robbie) Caldwell for a little bit.
“That was real good, because I talked to coach Swinney, he said he liked my film and he’s watching me and he had tabs on me, so that’s a pretty good feeling. Seeing the offensive line coach, coach Caldwell, that was good, too, seeing him for the first time.”
South Carolina and UNC have also had Douglas on campus this spring. He’ll visit Florida State on Friday and Tennessee at the end of the month.
