GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Clemson Insider caught up with former Clemson defensive end Vic Beasley following Thursday night’s South Carolina Football Hall of Fame Player of the Year Award presentation at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Greenville.
Beasley talked about receiving the award, while also what it was like to be in the same room with so many legends in attendance that have helped shaped the game of football in the state of South Carolina. He also spoke about the whole NFL Draft experience and what kind of feedback he has been getting from NFL teams. He will be in Chicago with head coach Dabo Swinney on April 30 as part of the NFL Draft Experience.
Beasley is expected to be a top 10 pick in this year’s draft.
Former Tiger Brian Dawkins was inducted into the Hall of Fame on Thursday, while another former Tiger, Nick Eason, was the host. Also in attendance from Clemson was defensive line coach Marion Hobby, defensive backs coach Mike Reed and Director of Recruiting Thad Turnipseed.
It was a Who’s Who of South Carolina football legends. Former Cincinnati head coach Sam Wyche was there as was former SC State head coach Willie Jefferies, Pro Football Hall of Famer Art Shell, of the Oakland Raiders, who was inducted with Dawkins and former Dallas Cowboys’ player and Denver Broncos head coach Dan Reeves.
