Do you “Believe” Clemson can win a national championship?

I have been asked this question a lot this year. Can Clemson win the national championship in college football?

So why am I asked this question more than any other year during my 12 years of covering the Tigers? I think this year, fans really believe they can. And I am right there with them.

I know some of you out there are still skeptical. The Bowden years harden your heart and though you softened up some there is still that shred of doubt that makes you think to yourself, “They are going to pull a Clemson at some point.”

But, at least the fans I’m talking to, a lot of fans believe the Tigers are legitimate national title contenders and from what they said, they think it can happen as early as this year. I believe that, too.

Why? As they say, “The proof is in the pudding.”
