James Robinson picked up an offer from Clemson on Tuesday when Jeff Scott stopped by Lakeland High School.
The four-star sophomore spoke with TheClemsonInsider later that night.
“It was one of the ones that I really wanted,” Robinson said.
Clemson’s recent run of elite pass catchers has piqued his interest in the Tigers.
“I mean, I like the way they play and they have a few receivers that I like,” Robinson said.
Before Scott’s visit to Lakeland, his contact with the Tigers wasn’t very extensive.
“I hadn’t really talked to them, but on Instagram and they’ve been sending me letters,” Robinson said.
Listed at 6-3, 190 pounds, Robinson has no visit plans for the summer, but he does hope to get to Clemson.
“I’m going to talk to my coach about going,” he said of Clemson.
Florida and Florida State have had him on campus already this year. Both have offered, as have Ohio State and Tennessee. For now, Robinson has no leader or list favorites.
“I really want to see which coach is there for me and I’ll see from there,” he said.
