The Clemson Insider has confirmed that Clemson defensive end Ebenezer Ogundeko has been arrested and charged with Financial Transaction Card Fraud by the City of Clemson Police Department, which ultimately led to his dismissal from the Clemson football team on Tuesday morning.
TCI has requested a copy of the incident report.
Ogundeko, who has not been in any real trouble since coming to Clemson in 2013, was dismissed from the Clemson football team by head coach Dabo Swinney.
“Ebenezer Ogundeko has been dismissed from the Clemson football team for a violation of team rules and behavior detrimental to our football team,” said Swinney in a statement. “We wish him well.”
Ogundeko, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., came to Clemson in 2013 and red-shirted as a freshman. He played in seven games last season for 16 total snaps from scrimmage and had five total tackles as a reserve defensive end and special teams player.
