On Wednesday morning, 2015 athlete Denzel Johnson will decide which school he’ll sign with to play college football.
A three-star safety, according to 247, Johnson is set to announce between Clemson, UMass, Washington State and S.C. State. The 6-1, 190-pound prospect from Columbia-AC Flora postponed his signing until qualifying with the necessary grades and test score.
Clemson hosted Johnson for an official visit in January and had him on campus again in March to watch spring practice. TheClemsonInsider will be on hand at AC Flora on Wednesday for the 9 a.m. announcement.
As a senior, Johnson had 61 tackles, two interceptions and eight pass breakups. On offense, he had over 800 yards receiving with 10 touchdowns.
Johnson is the No. 18 overall prospect in South Carolina’s class of 2015, according to the 247 composite. He ran a 4.55 in the 40-yard dash last March at the Nike Football Training Camp in Atlanta.
