Up from Lakeland, Fla. earlier this month for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp, [autotag]James Robinson[/autotag] was on the field for every workout with wide receivers coach Jeff Scott.
Robinson was joined by Lakeland teammate A.J. Davis, a 2017 running back who also holds an offer from Clemson.
The four-star wide receiver, who’s ranked by 247 as the No. 34 wide receiver in the class of 2017, recently spoke with TheClemsonInsider about his multi-day stay in Tigertown.
How was the trip?
Robinson: “It was good, it was great.”
What stood out?
Robinson: “The competing and the way that the coaches were coaching.”
What was the main thing you took away from the coaching?
Robinson: “My stance and common sense things, like things that you wouldn’t think about as the game is going on.”
What did you think about the campus and facilities?
Robinson: “It was good. I liked it. I liked where we stayed. And we went over there for a little bit with Mike Williams.
What did the current players tell you about what it’s like to be a football player at Clemson?
Robinson: “They were like, just stay focused and do the right things on and off the field.”
In addition to his visit to Clemson, Robinson camped at Florida and Auburn earlier this month. All three have offered, so have Florida State, Ohio State and Tennessee.
However, Robinson has no list of favorites.
“It’s too early,” he said.
Several factors will be considered as the process continues.
“The relationship with the coaches, the staff and the organization that really shows me that they want me,” Robinson said.
