Brooks felt at home in Tigertown

The summer recruiting season is in full-swing. Unfortunately, real, live college football is still a couple of months away.

With that in mind, TheClemsonInsider is taking a look back at the recruitment of each returning player to the Clemson roster with the Back When series.

Prior to his multi-day visit to Clemson for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp in June of 2011, Brooks listed Clemson, Auburn, Arkansas and Notre Dame as his favorites.

Clemson had the look of a leader at the end of his trip.

A week to the day after his visit to Clemson began, Brooks jumped on board with the Tigers’ 2012 signing class.

“When I went there, everything was what I expected and more. The people were great. I could see myself playing there for the next three or four years. I just feel at home when I go there. I wasn’t ready to leave.”

Brooks remained true to his word over, never wavering from his commitment to Clemson.

Scout.com listed Brooks as a four-star wide receiver, but he was recruited to play running back at Clemson by first-year offensive coordinator Chad Morris.
