Josh Belk is just now scratching the surface of his immense talent.
The 6-foot-3, 305-pound rising sophomore defensive tackle from Lewisville High School already has three offers: Clemson, South Carolina and LSU.
South Carolina offered before Belk wrapped up last month’s camp stop. LSU pulled the trigger before the day was over. Clemson jumped into the mix two days later.
The day between his Clemson and South Carolina/LSU offers, Belk was in Tigertown for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.
“I liked it, because the coaches they were showing love,” Belk said, during a recent interview with TheClemsonInsider.
“They’ll help you out and they’ll stay on you if you do something wrong. I just felt good around the camp.”
Co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Jeff Scott, who serves as Clemson’s area recruiter, delivered the offer.
“I was happy, because it’s D-1 and I felt comfortable there. And, it’s good, because they already want me,” Belk said.
The 2018 prospect, one of four from the state to score a camp offer from Clemson, will keep a couple of factors in mind as he moves through the recruiting process.
“First, the education, then I want to look at the environment of the school and the coaches, see how the coaches work,” Belk said.
Along with the two instate camp stops, Belk also attended the Penn State satellite camp at Davidson College. He plans to visit Florida State later this summer.
