Riley working 4-star SG

Clemson assistant coach Richie Riley continues to pound the recruiting trail for four-star shooting guard Eli Wright.

Ranked by 247 as the No. 20 shooting guard in the class of 2016, Wright is from Riley’s native state of Kentucky, by way of Owensboro-Apollo.

“Richie, the assistant coach, he recruits me hard. He’s a hard working man. I like that about him. He’s at all my games. Every game I have, AAU and high school, he’s at all of them,” Wright said, during an interview with TheClemsonInsider.

What does Riley tell him?

“How I can come in right away and make an impact to the program,” Wright said.

The 6-4, 170-pound prospect visited Clemson last fall during football season, shortly after Riley was hired.

“The campus is beautiful, I like the campus. And how everybody is so friendly, it’s nice down there,” Wright said.

Wake Forest is scheduled to host him on an official visit July 31-Aug. 2.

“That’s it right now,” Wright said of his officials.

Clemson, Wake Forest, Tennessee, and Oklahoma State are recruiting him the hardest.

“Trust is a big factor. I’m going to be spending my four years at that program, so that’s the biggest thing,” Wright said.
