With four seniors in the Byrnes wide receiver rotation last season, freshman [autotag]Demarcus Gregory[/autotag] had to wait his turn.
Two of those seniors, Tavin Richardson and Braylin Collins signed with Kentucky and Eastern Michigan, respectively.
Heading into his sophomore season, Gregory is ready to take on a full-time role. To help get ready for 2015, the 6-3, 190-pound prospect camped at [autotag]Clemson[/autotag] and UNC earlier this summer.
“It was good. There was a lot of talent up there. I competed against the top corners in the state. I did pretty good. I competed well,” Gregory said of the Clemson camp.
He worked with area recruiter Jeff Scott.
“I liked working with him. He’s a hard worker. He was getting the best from us,” Gregory said.
Clemson and UNC are expressing interest, so are Florida State, South Carolina, Michigan State and UCF.
“I always liked Clemson, but I like Georgia, too,” Gregory said.
Last fall, he was in Clemson for the N.C. State game.
“I just like it. Nice people down there. Good coaches,” he said.
This fall, Gregory hopes to see games at Georgia and South Carolina.
