Top 2018 corner likes Clemson

One of the first 2018 prospects to add an offer from Clemson was Thomson, Ga. cornerback Christian Tutt.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect already sports an impressive offer sheet, which includes Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, Oklahoma, Penn State, South Carolina, Tenessee, USC and Virginia Tech.

Clemson defensive backs coach Mike Reed offered at the end of the May evaluation period.

“I like to go up there a lot, spend some time with the coaches, especially coach Reed. We have a great relationship and it’s always good to catch up on good times with them,” Tutt told TheClemsonInsider.

The first trip to Clemson was earlier this spring for Junior Day. Tutt was back with several teammates for last month’s Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

“Great facilities, great campus, great people, great coaches,” Tutt said. “They’ll definitely be one of my top schools. Right now, I don’t have any top schools, but they’ll be in the top 10. No doubt.”

Tutt is a long way away from making any kind of cuts, though.

“I’ll have to look at the depth chart. I want to go somewhere where education is high. The program is there. Got to look at the depth chart. Do they play freshmen? Stuff like that,” he said.

Alabama, Georgia and Auburn will also receive heavy consideration.

As a freshman, Tutt had 33 tackles and 10 pass breakups. While lining up as a quarterback, he rushed 42 times for 232 yards with two touchdowns. Tutt also averaged 21.3 yards on kickoff returns and took one back for a touchdown.
