Tigers are better in trenches than we thought

Clemson’s media days have come and gone. We have spoken with Dabo Swinney, his coordinators, all of his assistant coaches and two of his players.

So in the last two weeks, what do we know about the Clemson football program that we did not already know?

“At Clemson we reload, we do not rebuild,” left guard Eric Mac Lain said.

The Tigers have reloaded with a bunch of five- and four-star players on both the offensive and the defensive side of the ball.

When Isaiah Battle jumped to the NFL after once again finding himself in Swinney’s doghouse, Clemson found itself with just one starter returning on the offensive line. But there seems to  be no worry from Swinney or anyone else despite the fact the Tigers are starting one true freshman in Mitch Hyatt at left tackle and have three more freshman listed on the two-deep depth chart.

“I like our offensive line,” Swinney said. “I think we have a chance to be pretty good.”
