Clemson adds 2016 commitment

Brad Brownell secured his first 2016 pledge on Wednesday afternoon when three-star wing [autotag]Scott Spencer[/autotag] pulled the trigger on a commitment to Clemson.

“Me and my family, we felt like it was the right place. [autotag]Clemson[/autotag] was with me at the beginning of this process and they stuck with me, so me and my family definitely felt like Clemson was the right place with me,” Spencer told TheClemsonInsider.

With both his parents at his side, Spencer called Brownell. They were on campus last weekend for an unofficial visit.

“I thought it was great. Everything was excellent. It was amazing, everything. The campus, the coaches, everything,” Spencer said.

As a junior at The Blue Ridge School in Virginia, Spencer averaged 12.6 points per game.

“They want me to come in and shoot the ball. That’s what I plan on doing. That’s my game. That’s the style play. I plan on doing that when I come in,” Spencer said.

In addition to Clemson, Spencer held offers from Kansas State, Buffalo, East Carolina, Murray State, Western Kentucky, Hofstra, Wofford
