Here are some notes to pass along from watching Wednesday’s practice.

*Freshman wide receiver Deon Cain showed out in the second day of practice. He opened things by burning Marcus Edmonds on a skinny post. He later made a one-handed catch after breaking Chalmer’s ankle on the route. He later caught another long pass from Schuessler. He eventually was put in with the first team and caught a pass from Watson.

*Trevion Thompson continues to be impressive. He caught a long pass from Schuessler that went for a touchdown. Fields got beat on the play, but the freshman bounced back a few plays later to break up a pass.
