Clemson finished its first of two practices of fall camp around noon on Monday. It was the Tigers’ second day of being in full pads. They will head back this afternoon around 4 p.m.
Here are some news and notes we gathered from the first practice, which lasted about two and a half hours.
*Wayne Gallman continues to be the front runner at running back, though co-Offensive coordinator Tony Elliott says C.J. Davidson has made up some ground. Elliott also revealed to us that Adam Choice looked good in taking contact the last two practices and that has really been pleasing to him. He is listed No. 3 by Elliott, while C.J. Fuller is No. 4. Tyshon Dye is No. 5, followed by Zac Brooks, who has not had as many reps because of his heel, which kept him out for three days.
*The offensive line is starting to shape up. Taylor Hearn is cross-training at left tackle and left guard, while Jay Guillermo has now moved up to second-team center.
