There’s no need to worry about the defense

We are a week into Clemson’s fall camp so what have we really learned?

I think we have learned a lot about the 2015 Clemson Tigers already, especially on defense. Defensively, the Tigers do not appear to be missing a beat.

Coming into camp there were all sorts of questions regarding the defensive line and the linebacker positions. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney told us he felt good about the defense despite the fact it had to replace six defensive linemen, two linebackers and two starters in the secondary.

He told us they might not be the No. 1 ranked defense in the country, again, but they would still be very good. “They might be short on experience, but not talent.” That seems to be the case.

The defense has owned the first week of practice for the most part, which really is what you like to see. No matter if it is one-on-one, Paw Drills, seven-on-seven, goal line or 11-on-11, the defense has had the upper hand the majority of the time.
