When four-star 2017 offensive tackle Andrew Thomas arrived to Clemson for the last day of camp, he was joined by one of his linemates from Atlanta-Pace Academy.
Thomas already had an offer from the Tigers. [autotag]Jamaree Salyer[/autotag], a 2018 prospect, nabbed his before heading back home for an afternoon workout at Pace.
“I had fun, mostly I liked the facilities. It was a fun camp,” Salyer recently told TheClemsonInisder.
He added, “I enjoyed the coaches whenever I went up there and I had fun doing 1-on-1s. I had a pretty good day, a pretty productive day.”
Salyer sports an already impressive offer sheet: Florida State, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, Miami, Arkansas, Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Memphis.
More will come. Salyer could end up as the best prospect to attend the Dabo Swinney Football Camp in 2015.
“I really like [autotag]Clemson[/autotag]. They’re a good ACC school…I like the direction their program is heading in,” he said.
Scout and 247 already list him as a four-star tackle. According to 247, he’s the No. 11 offensive tackle in the class of 2018.
Earlier this month, Salyer was said to favor Clemson, Tennessee and Florida State.
“I guess those were the schools that stood out to me at the moment that I was going around and doing camps, stuff like that,” Salyer said.
Those three schools, along with Georgia and Arkansas, are among the early stand-outs.
Several factors will be considered as he moves through the process.
“Definitely distance from home. Academics, I would like to go to a good academic school,” Salyer said. “A school that is definitely a good program, a program that looks like they’re heading in the right direction. Things like that will really come into play.
“And, of course, if the school is OK with my parents. They’re not OK with every school.”
Over the summer, he visited Tennessee, Georgia South Carolina, UNC, Stanford, California and Ohio State.
Salyer hopes to attend a few games this season: Clemson (vs. Florida State) Tennessee (Georgia) and Georgia (Alabama).
