Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said Friday’s morning practice was a good tough practice. The Tigers worked out for two and half hours at Jervey Meadows behind Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
“It was very fast paced and we kind of continued some of the situations we needed to get done,” Swinney said.
Clemson did a good bit of work on special teams, including work on punt and kickoff coverage as well as returns. The Tigers will do some live work tomorrow. Clemson also worked on a good bit of coming off the goal line today.
“Guys have really pushed through well. This is the dog days of camp,” Swinney said.
On Thursday, Clemson had just a short walkthrough on the field. It was not a physical day as the coaches allowed them to catch their breath physically. However, mentally, they were really pushed. They ended the day by attending a movie.
Ray Ray shows out. Swinney and offensive coordinator Jeff Scott bragged on freshman wide receiver Ray Ray McCloud. Swinney said McCloud, along with fellow freshman receiver Deon Cain will avoid being redshirt and will be able to help the team.
However, when the season begins, McCloud might do a little more than Cain.
