Baylon Spector has been ready to commit to Clemson for a while.

His dad, Robbie, played wide receiver at Clemson, so the rising junior linebacker from Calhoun, Ga. has been a regular in Tigertown on Saturdays in the fall since he was a kid.

On Saturday, while in town town to help his sister move-in to Clemson, Spector stopped by the football facility to meet with Dabo Swinney.

“I’ve always loved it and I’ve always wanted to play here and play for coach Swinney. I like coach Swinney a lot it’s always been a special place since I was little,” Spector said.

Duke and Wake Forest also offered.

“It’s always been a dream to play up here. I’ve always wanted to play up here. When I was little, I wanted to play up here,” he said.

Spector is the first 2017 Clemson commitment.

“(Swinney) was really excited, because I’m the first commitment to the class of 2017. He was really excited and happy for me, ” Spector said.

He added, “I knew where I wanted to go so I came down here and I guess pulled the trigger.”
