Monday Morning Quarterback

It seemed like yesterday when it was announced Clemson was going to play Notre Dame in Death Valley, again. But that was a couple of years ago. At that time it seemed like the matchup was forever away, but here it is – Notre Dame at Clemson, this Saturday at 8 p.m.

The game seems to be better than any of us expected or hoped for. Notre Dame resembles the Notre Dame of old as it comes in 4-0 and ranked sixth nationally, while the 11th-ranked Tigers resemble the program it was back in the 1980s when it was one of the best in the country.

On Saturday night 85,000 people will descend upon Clemson Memorial Stadium, while the whole nation will be watching on television. ESPN’s College GameDay will be on hand, SportsCenter will be broadcasting live from Death Valley, the winner will perhaps vault to the front of the line in the race to the College Football Playoffs … it will be without a doubt the biggest game perhaps ever played at Clemson.
