Kizer is no Joe Montana

The last time Notre Dame came to Clemson was in 1977. Do you recall who the Irish’s quarterback was that day? I know some of you do, but just in case, it was a guy named Joe Montana. You’ve heard of him, right?

You know the guy who led San Francisco to four Super Bowl titles, was a three-time Super Bowl MVP and a Pro Football Hall of Famer. Yeah, that Joe Montana.

Through the first three quarters of that game on November 12, 1977 in Death Valley, Clemson was manhandling the No. 5 Irish.  Montana was just 5 of 15 for 77 yards prior to a late drive that started at the Notre Dame 16 following a Clemson fumble.
