Another strong visitor list for Saturday

Among the headlining visitors for Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech are a pair of 2017 instate prospects.

Union wide receiver Shi Smith and Lake Marion safety Davondre ‘Tank’ Robinson are confirmed as guests for this weekend.

Smith, a four-star, last visited Clemson in June for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp. Afterwards, he named Clemson as his leader. Tennessee, UNC and South Carolina are also in the mix.

Robinson was in Clemson last Saturday for the Tigers’ rain-soaked win over Notre Dame. South Carolina and UNC are thought to be Clemson’s biggest competition for the four-star.

Clemson will play host to Chandler Wooten, a three-star 2017 outside linebacker from North Cobb High School in Georgia. Wooten has offers from Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Nebraska, UNC, Penn State and Tennessee, among several others.

Also slated to be on campus is 2018 quarterback Emory Jones. Jones visited Clemson in the summer for camp, but was not a participant. Mississippi State and Georgia Southern have already offered the sophomore from Heard County High School in Georgia.

Four-star defensive end Yetur Matos (Fredericksburg, Va.) was has rescheduled his visit plans, so instead of coming down this Saturday for the Georgia Tech game, he’ll be in next weekend for Boston College.

The Clemson basketball staff is scheduled to host 2017 power forward Jack Nunge. Late last month, Clemson and Iowa offered the 6-9, 185-pound prospect from Newburgh, Indiana.

Scott Spencer, the Tigers’ first 2016 commitment, will also be on campus. This weekend will serve as his official visit.

Seth Beer will also use his official visit this weekend. The highly-touted baseball prospect from Georgia is on track to graduate in December from Lambert High School in Suwanee, Ga.

Monte Lee’s staff is also expecting to host Nolan Clenney, a right-handed pitcher from Brunswick Community College in Leland, N.C.
