For a third consecutive weekend, the Clemson football staff will have several recruits on campus for unofficial visits.
Among the non-committed, top-rated football guests are a pair of 2017 defensive ends.
Yetur Matos, a four-star from Chancellor High School in Fredericksburg, Va., was originally scheduled to visit last weekend for Georgia Tech. Matos rescheduled for Saturday when weather pushed his school’s homecoming back one weekend.
According to 247, Matos is the No. 143 overall prospect in the class of 2017. Rivals lists him at 237.
Malik Herring, another four-star, will be up from Georgia (Forsyth-Mary Persons). Rivals considers Herring the 40th best prospect in the class. 247 has him at 108.
At least two 2016 Clemson commitments are scheduled to be on campus. Four-star quarterback Zerrick Cooper and four-star defensive tackle Nyles Pinckney indicated to TheClemsonInsider that they’re going to visit.
Two instate prospects will visit, too.
Landon Holden, a 2016 linebacker from Chapman, who has a preferred walk-on offer from the Tigers, has been invited to attend the game as a recruit. So has 2017 Mid-Carolina quarterback Corey Stone.
Perhaps the biggest recruiting weekend of the season is on tap for Nov. 7, when Florida State comes to town. Several 2017 and 2018 prospects have already made plans to visit, including Charlotte-Mallard Creek offensive lineman Eric Douglas, who named Clemson his leader earlier this week.
The biggest name on that list of guests is 2016 defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence. That will be his official visit to Clemson
Clemson’s official visit weekend for the committed, mid-year enrollees is set for the final home game of the season against Wake Forest.
Monte Lee and the Clemson baseball staff will host a majority of the 2016 commits on official visits this weekend.
