TCI College Football Playoff Predictions

The chase for the College Football Playoff continues.  Each week the TCI staff gives their four playoff teams.

Here is this week’s edition.

Robert MacRae – After destroying Miami I am moving Clemson up to the No. 1 seed this week.  Ohio State comes in at No. 2 as they continue to improve.  TCU gets by third place vote as they remain undefeated.  The big showdown with Baylor will decide which team makes if from their conference.  For my final team I will go with LSU from the SEC.  If LSU loses to Bama next weekend then that will make things very interesting for the SEC.

Will Vandervort – After what I saw last week, I think Clemson is the best team in the country. The Tigers are as balanced both offensively and defensively as anyone. Actually, there is only one other who is and that is Ohio State. The Tigers can score when they want to and they can stop anyone they face. Outside of Ohio State, who is my No. 2 team, no one else can say that. Baylor can score, but the defense awful. The same goes for TCU. I like LSU, but there are holes in the defense and the quarterback is very suspect. Alabama is the most overrated of them all. Its defense is great, but the offense is average at best. My other two besides Clemson and Ohio State is LSU and Stanford.

Hale McGranahan – Surprise, surprise: Ohio State is No. 1. Looks like they’re really about to get cranked up. Utah, you’re done. Alabama jumped to two last week, but their win over Texas A&M, which vaulted them ahead of TCU, doesn’t look quite as good. Either way, I’ve still got the Tide second. I’ve talked down Miami all year, but 58-0 on the road is something serious. Clemson jumps TCU, to three, and the Frogs are four. Give me Stanford as the fifth. They’re really good. LSU moves to six and Baylor drops significantly with Seth Russell’s injury.

William Qualkinbush – I’m sticking with Ohio State after it took care of business against Rutgers. Ditto with Clemson after pounding Miami. The Tigers are still in my second slot. Baylor comes in third for me, even though my long-term view of that program has diminished with the Seth Russell injury. I really don’t think I have much choice but to put LSU into my fourth slot as an unbeaten SEC team.
