Around the Horn with TCI

The TCI staff of Ed McGranahan, Hale McGranahan, Will Vandervort, William Qualkinbush and Robert MacRae go Around the Horn to answer some of the questions surrounding Clemson athletics and college football.

Which current top four team would be the biggest challenge for Clemson in the playoff?

Robert MacRae – I will have to go with Ohio State.  Alabama is a one trick pony with just a strong running game.  Ohio State has the most playmakers on offense and could be a big challenge for the Clemson defense.  We have already seen that Clemson is better than Notre Dame.

Will Vandervort: I think it is Ohio State. The Buckeyes are the most talented team in the country. The Buckeyes are also the more balanced of the remaining three teams. The offense is very talented with a mobile quarterback, while the defense can hold its own and is good at stopping the run and the pass. Ohio State is very similar to Clemson, which can cause issues. Also, keep in mind Ohio State has been through it already and knows what it takes to win a championship.

William Qualkinbush – I don’t want any part of Ohio State. Urban Meyer strikes me as a vengeful guy, and I’m sure he can’t wait to get some revenge for the beating his team took at the hands of the Tigers in the Orange Bowl a couple of seasons ago. Plus, he’s so good in games with tangible stakes. If I’m Clemson, I’ll take my chances with either Notre Dame or Alabama rather than risking the wrath of Urban.

Ed McGranahan – Derrick Henry is a load and that defense looks stout. Pray Alabama trips
