With a win over Wake Forest Clemson will finish 8-0 in the ACC which would be a first for the Tigers. In 1983 Clemson finished 7-0 in the ACC but couldn’t win the title because they were on probation. They finished 6-0 in 1967, 1978, 1981 and 1982.
Another Senior Day for Deacons
For the second week in a row Wake Forest will play on the road for the opponents Senior Day. Last week they had to play at No. 4 Notre Dame.
Win No. 700
The Tigers are looking for win No. 700 in history Saturday afternoon. It will also be their 1200 game of all-time.
13 in a Row
Clemson has won 13 games in a row which ties for the second best streak in history. A win Saturday will put the streak second only to the 15 game streak in 1947-49.
Unanimous No. 1
For the first time this year the Tigers are ranked No. 1 in the College Playoff Poll, the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll. They have now been No. 1 three weeks in a row which is the longest streak in Clemson history.
Watson Fourth All-time
Deshaun Watson has 598 rushing yards on the season. That is the fourth best ever for Clemson. With 51 yards against Wake Forest Watson will pass Steve Fuller’s 649 yards from 1978. That would put him only behind the 1028 in 2000 by Woody Dantlzer and the 1061 by Dantzler in 2001.
