Daniel 2017 shooting guard A.J. Oliver will announce his college decision on Tuesday afternoon at 5 p.m.

Clemson, College of Charleston and Texas Tech are the three finalists. Oliver is scheduled to reveal his decision before his family, friends and teammates.

The son of Clemson women’s basketball coach Audra Smith, Oliver was offered by Clemson in late August.

“It’s a huge offer, honestly,” Oliver told TCI, after Brad Brownell pulled the trigger.

“The ACC school offering me, it was kind of hectic for a couple of minutes, but I have to come back down to earth and return to this process, do a little research about what their class sizes were. But it’s just crazy.”

Clemson’s basketball staff had him on campus several times this season for football games. Over the weekend, he visited with Oregon head coach Dana Altman while the women’s team was playing the Ducks.

“I really liked it,” he said of Oregon, “But it’s too far for me, so I’ll just pick out of my top three.”

Old Dominion, FIU, Wofford and USC-Upstate have also offered.
