CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Deshaun Watson beefed up his Heisman resume with a record-setting performance.
With a trip to the College Football Playoff on the line, Watson led Clemson to a 45-37 win over North Carolina in Saturday night’s ACC Championship.

Watson’s first touchdown pass was a 16-yard toss to Wayne Gallman, which gave Clemson a 7-3 first quarter lead.
Trailing 9-7, Clemson regained the lead when Watson capped a 90-yard drive ended with 9-yard touchdown run. On the 90-yard drive, 49 of the yards were picked up on the ground by Watson.
Clemson went up 21-16 with two seconds left in the first half when Watson found Jordan Leggett on a 1-yard touchdown pass.
Watson connected with Artavis Scott on a 36-yard touchdown pass, which pushed Clemson’s lead to 35-16.
The final Watson touchdown was a 2-yard rush. Clemson’s lead was extended to 42-23.
On the night, Watson completed 26 of 42 passes for 289 yards. He also rushed 24 times for 131 yards.
