Brownell glad to see his team bounce back

GREENVIILE — Clemson head coach Brad Brownell was glad to see his team bounce back from Sunday’s tough loss to Alabama by dominating a team they should dominate.

The Tigers, who will host No. 25 South Carolina on Friday, held Presbyterian to 27.6 percent shooting, and to just 6 of 27 from the field in the second half as they cruised to a 69-41 victory at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville. The Blue Hose closed the game by missing 10 of their last 12 shots from the field.

Clemson (7-3) got 12 points and 13 rebounds from Sidy Djitte, his second double-double of the season and of his career. Guard Avry Holmes also scored 12 points and dished out 12 assists in the win.

The Tigers will try to hand the Gamecocks (9-0) their first loss of the season at 7 p.m. on Friday. South Carolina is going for its first 10-0 start since the 1933-’34 season.
