The rich get richer

In case you missed it: Clemson is loaded at quarterback for the foreseeable future.

When we say loaded, we mean really loaded. It’s actually getting pretty ridiculous.

Starting from the top: Deshaun Watson is the man for the next year. Two, if you’re lucky.

The list of replacements is chock-full of stars.

Freshmen Kelly Bryant and Tucker Israel are the only other quarterbacks on the current roster that are scheduled to be around in 2017.

Bryant, a former four-star, was ranked by Rivals as the No. 11 dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2015. Israel, a three-star, was classified as a pro-style passer.

Four-star Zerrick Cooper, who’s been committed for over a year, will join them in the summer. Five-star Hunter Johnson threw his name into the ring on Monday night when he committed to sign with Clemson in 2017. Four-star Chase Brice joined him some 48 hours later.

Cooper’s listed as the 10th best dual-threat for this year’s cycle. Johnson is the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2017 haul. Brice is 142nd.

This season, Cooper threw for 2,039 yards with 21 touchdowns. Johnson had 2,545 yards and 31 touchdowns. Brice finished with 2,436 yards and 28 scores.

All three had plenty of other options. Good options.

Cooper’s offer sheet once included Louisville, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Ohio State, in addition to the heavy interest Florida expressed over the summer. Johnson flipped to Clemson from Tennessee. Alabama, Florida, Michigan and Notre Dame have offered. Michigan State was thought to be the other major player for Brice, who has several ACC and SEC offers.

The rich get richer.
