GREENVILLE — Though Clemson rallied from a 20-point first-half deficit in Friday’s 65-59 loss to No. 25 South Carolina at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, Clemson shooting guard Donte Grantham says his team’s biggest issue right now is not being tough at the right times.
Four times in the final six minutes on Friday, the Tigers cut the Gamecocks lead to four points and had the ball to do even more damage. But Clemson (7-4) failed to capitalize on the opportunities, ultimately costing itself a much needed win over the Gamecocks, who are now 4-2 against Clemson head coach Brad Brownell.
Grantham finished the evening with 16 points on 6 of 14 shooting, including 4 of 9 from three-point range. He also had six rebounds, three assists and one blocked shot.
