Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney says you can tell the kind of year freshman left tackle Mitch Hyatt has had because no one in the media has asked about him. Swinney says its great having no one ask about the true freshman because it means he has been doing his job.
That he has. Hyatt finished third by the Associated Press as ACC Rookie of the Year., and won the honor according to ESPN.com. He was a second or third-team All-ACC tackle depending on what outlet you might be reading.
Hyatt also earned Freshman All-American honors as the first Clemson left tackle to start an entire season there since 1944.
“We don’t worry about him,” Swinney said. “When we start to game plan, we don’t worry about Mitch. We don’t have to line a tight end up by him and have them chip. We don’t worry about him.”
