Several of the country’s top 2016 prospects will hit the field on Saturday afternoon for the Under Armour All-American Game.
The annual all-star game will have a touch of Clemson flavor.
Five-star linebacker Rahshaun ‘Shaq’ Smith will announce his decision during the game, which kicks off at 12 on ESPN2. Clemson, LSU and Auburn are the finalists.
Clemson is expected to gain his commitment and add him back into their 2016 class, which includes four-star Tre Lamar and three-star Jamie Skalski. If Smith pulls the trigger, he will join Lamar and move to Clemson next week, to start the spring semester.
They’ll play for Team Armour during Saturday’s game. Lamar will wear No. 57. Smith is going to be No. 4.
Smith, who’s originally from Baltimore, spent his senior year at the IMG Academy in Florida. Clemson hosted him for an official visit in December, after he took trips to LSU, Auburn, Maryland and Oregon. The Terps and Ducks were eliminated from consideration late in the process.
Clemson first scored his commitment in late March, but Smith backed off in August, so he could take official visits to other schools.
Also in the Under Armour game is five-star defensive tackle Rashan Gary, who will suit up for Team Highlight. Clemson is working against Georgia and LSU to score an official visit before the end of the month. Southern Cal will host him in two weeks. Auburn, Michigan and Ole Miss have already received officials.
