Cade Stewart thought he had everything all figured out.
The Daniel High School senior offensive lineman committed to Georgia Southern last Tuesday.
Now, he’s got a greyshirt offer from Clemsonn.
“They were saying how I earned it and worked hard for it. They just said that I earned it,” Stewart said.
According to 247, Stewart is rated as a three-star and ranked as the No. 116 offensive tackle in the class of 2016.
If he picks Clemson, Stewart wouldn’t enroll until January of 2017.
“It means a lot, that I’m capable of earning a scholarship to a top program. It gave me a (confidence boost),” he said.
The 6-4, 280-pound prospect is conflicted.
“It’s a difficult decision, but I am committed to Georgia Southern right now. I want to make a decision before Signing Day and have everything settled down,” Stewart said. “It is a tough decision, but sometimes tough decisions come with tough answers.”
Several factors led him to committing to Georgia Southern.
“It just felt like a good fit for me. It’s a big family atmosphere. Coach (Allen Mogridge) is the man, I love coach Mo,” Stewart said. “Even, after leaving, I couldn’t wait to get back. Just that gut feeling. This was the place for me, so that’s where I committed.”
