Earlier this year, Clemson added a couple of highly-rated defensive tackles to an already strong group.

Dexter Lawrence and Nyles Pinckney were already enrolled at Clemson by the time 2017 three-star Neil Farrell showed up for the first Junior Day of the year in January.

“It was good,” he said of the visit. “Atmosphere was great (and) I really liked everything about it.”

The 6-foot-4, 285-pound prospect from Murphy High School in Mobile, Ala. is being recruited to Clemson by defensive ends coach Marion Hobby.

“He’s a very cool coach,” Farrell said.

Head coach Dabo Swinney received similar praise.

“He’s a great coach, really a players’ coach,” Farrell said.

Clemson is expected to receive an official visit later on in the process. In the meantime, he’s hoping to also get up to Michigan. LSU has also hosted him this year.

The ACC Tigers are highly thought of by Farrell.

“Clemson is one of top schools,” he said.

For Farrell, there are several things that are appealing about Clemson.

“They have a home feeling type atmosphere and they are all about academics,” he said.
