Former Clemson defensive end Kevin Dodd was taken No. 33 overall by the Tennessee Titans in the second-round of the 2016 NFL Draft on Friday in Chicago, Ill.
Dodd is the second former Tigers off the board as he joins Lawson, who was selected No. 19 overall by the Buffalo Bills in the opening round.
Dodd finished second in the nation in tackles for loss behind Lawson. Dodd had 23.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage on his way to All-ACC honors. The 6-foot-5, 275-pound defensive end had 86 tackles and 12 sacks in his first season as a starter.
His 12 sacks ranked sixth in the country in sacks.
“If you want to take a look at what this team does well, his best football was against Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Alabama,” NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock said. “He played his best football at the end of the season. He uses his length to come underneath the right tackle, gets the edge and finishes.
“So when I look at him, I see a long athlete that is not real twitchy. But he can be physical and get set an edge. He will be a difference maker in the pass game.”
With his selection, Dodd became the seventh former defensive end from Clemson selected in the draft in the last seven years.
